President Sadyr Japarov addressed Kyrgyzstanis on the occasion of the International Migrants Day. The text was sent out by his press service.
Sadyr Japarov addressed the migrants with words of gratitude and recognition for their hard work. He emphasized that today they are forced to live and work far from their homeland, in a foreign land, overcoming the longing for the Motherland and the pain of separation from their relatives in order to earn a living.
«I know what it’s like to be a migrant and endure the hardships and deprivations of such a life away from home. After all, it is not for nothing that the people say since ancient times: «Even the dust of the native land is like golden sand.» That is why, after my election as president, I was among the first to sign a decree on the adoption of measures aimed at improving the migration situation. At the same time, I set a task for the Cabinet of Ministers to create jobs in Kyrgyzstan that will provide a decent income,» said the head of state.
We are obliged to keep skilled professionals at home.

«It is known that in any field the greatest contribution to its development and prosperity is made by the masters of their craft. Such people, in particular, well-trained specialists in education and health care, should live and work with dignity in their homeland, giving deep knowledge to future generations and taking care of the health of our people. At the same time, now, when the priority is given to the development of entrepreneurship, and without further ado, the importance of the role played by qualified engineering personnel — technicians, power engineers, builders, light industry workers and many other professional personnel — is clear,» the president said.
He recalled that this is why the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration was established and that particular importance is attached to migration issues. Tangible results can be achieved in their interconnection only. The President also said that the authorities pay special attention to the revival of industry, several projects have already been prepared. For example, production is resumed at the Kara-Balta carpet plant. It is planned to build industrial and machine-tractor parks, a cotton-textile cluster and a factory, several cement plants and implement other projects in the coming years.
«Their implementation will require involvement of competent, experienced professionals capable of working with modern technologies. All this means creation of new jobs for Kyrgyzstanis. But we have to solve another serious problem — protection of the rights and interests of labor migrants. We must not lose sight of this important issue. Streamlining migration routes, ensuring the safety and health of migrants and their families should become the main task of the state. In order for Kyrgyzstanis to have the opportunity to realize their potential in foreign labor markets, the task of their diversification, that is, diverse development in the aggregate, lies ahead,» the address says.
Sadyr Japarov stressed that the state is making every effort in order the migrants can return to their homeland, as well as to ensure the protection of the rights of compatriots who work outside Kyrgyzstan.
«I wish you and your families good health, implementation of the most daring plans, well-being and prosperity for our Fatherland!» the president concluded.
