Supporters of Bakyt Zhetigenov hold rally near Bishkek City Court

A rally in support of a parliamentary deputy Bakyt Zhetigenov is held near the City Court in Bishkek.

About 20 people demand to release the deputy suspected of attempt to seize power.

The panel of judges considers a measure of restraint for the previously arrested deputy today.

Lawyer Rabiga Sadykova asked to cancel the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek as unreasonable and illegal. She believes that the investigating judge should have denied the investigation’s request for arrest.

Bakyt Zhetigenov is suspected of attempt to seize power. He was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center. The investigation believes that he entered into an agreement with the leader of El Yntymagy association Askat Temraliev. Members of this movement and Bakytbek Zhetigenov were organizing mass protests in the capital, after which a violent seizure of power was to take place.
