Artificial intelligence to track COVID-19 carriers in South Korea

South Korea announced launch of a pilot project, as part of which artificial intelligence will detect people infected with coronavirus through thousands of surveillance cameras. Foreign media report.

According to them, the number of people infected with COVID-19 in South Korea is growing, so the government will launch the project in Bucheon, one of the most densely populated cities in the country with a population of over 800,000 people.

The new system will use artificial intelligence algorithms and facial recognition technology to analyze video footage. People infected with the coronavirus will be tracked, as will everyone they have come into contact with. In addition, the system will record people without masks and then transmit this information to the Ministry of Science.

According to the plan, the program will be able to track up to ten people at a time in five minutes.
