«Conscientious business, which we represent as an association, is always for paying all obligations imposed by the state and stipulated by law,» Askar Sydykov, executive director of the International Business Council, said when discussing the action plan of the Cabinet of Ministers on implementation of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026.
According to him, at the same time, it is necessary to look carefully at the ratio of public expenditures to GDP. According to various estimates, this figure ranges from 31 to 39 percent of GDP in Kyrgyzstan.
«This is much higher than in other developing countries. We need to take this into account and work on clear rules of the game, transparent and efficient state institutions, and more efficient spending of already existing public funds. We are generally in favor of paying all obligations. We always give all our partners a good example of the level of our public-private dialogue: we say we can get through to any official, right up to the president. This is our pride, the level of democracy, which should be preserved,» Askar Sydykov concluded.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov said earlier that business in Kyrgyzstan has been used to not paying customs duties, but «solving taxes issue in a different way».
