Elections: Interior Ministry sends 7 materials on bribery of voters to court

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan sent seven materials on bribery of voters to court. Sultan Makilov, the head of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, announced at a briefing.

According to him, 67 crimes and 76 offences were registered in during the pre-election period.

«Criminal cases on seven facts of bribery were sent to court,» Sultan Makilov said.

Deputies of the seventh convocation of Parliament are elected in Kyrgyzstan today. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament will be elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.
