«In the last day or two, we have seen an increase in attempts to bribe voters,» Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan, Marat Imankulov, said at a briefing today.

According to him, the situation in Kyrgyzstan is currently stable. There were no serious incidents. All law enforcement forces are ensuring security. They work together with election commissions.

«We guarantee that there will be order. We want to hold honest and fair elections, we will not hinder anyone, not a single participant in the process. We will create equal conditions for political parties and candidates in single-mandate constituencies,» Marat Imankulov noted.

«Despite explanatory work, we observe, by inertia, attempts to bribe voters and use the administrative resource by employees of state bodies. We are monitoring all these facts and taking prompt measures,» he concluded.

Deputies of the seventh convocation of Parliament are elected in Kyrgyzstan today. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament will be elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.
