People do not feel safe in Kyrgyzstan. Researchers came to such conclusions during a survey, the results of which are presented on Numbeo portal.

They show a very high level of crime in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in Kazakhstan.

The survey was carried out in 6,473 cities around the world. The data are indicated not in percents, but in points.

According to the respondents, Kyrgyzstan has a high crime rate (60.53 points), a high probability of robbery (60.28) and assault (61.18), physical attack due to skin color, ethnicity, gender or religion (60.71). The country has a high level of bribery and corruption (84.15).

Situation in Kazakhstan is slightly better, but the crime rate is still high (more than 60 points), and the level of bribery and corruption is very high (83.55) — the third after the southern neighbor.

However, unlike the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan has a low rate of physical attacks due to skin color, ethnicity, gender or religion — it is 33.99.

The indicators in Tajikistan are much better than in the previous two states, but, at the same time, it is also not very safe to walk alone there at night. The crime rate is assessed as moderate, but the rate of corruption and bribery is the highest among all Central Asian countries — 93.75 points.

Experts believe that such a high crime rate is associated with restrictions on freedom of speech.

Almost all crime rates are moderate and low in Turkmenistan, like in Tajikistan, except for the level of corruption and bribery (77.63). The same situation can be observed here as in the Republic of Tajikistan.

In Uzbekistan, according to respondents, there is no fear of being attacked. All other criteria are assessed as low and moderate, but the level of corruption and bribery is also high — 70.5 points.

The three most unsafe countries are Afghanistan (19.9), Yemen (22.7) and Bangladesh (25.5).

Residents of the top three countries feel completely safe: Taiwan (86.2), Qatar (86) and the United Arab Emirates (83.3).
