A 500-meter section of the railway to the Russian Kant military base will be restored by Russian military railway workers. Press service of the Central Military District of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
It is reportedly necessary to repair about 500 meters of the railway track, replace more than 400 reinforced concrete sleepers and lay 35 tons of rails.
The Russian Kant military base was created in 2003. It is a part of the infrastructure of the rapid deployment forces of the Central Asian region of the CSTO. The task of the forces located at the base is to control the airspace over Central Asia, provide air support for the CSTO ground forces unit, ensure security of the air borders of Kyrgyzstan.
