The Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Kudaibergen Bazarbaev discussed projects to help low-income families with Ozonnia Ojielo, UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic. Press service of the ministry reported.
The minister told about the work to support various social groups, including low-income families. It was proposed to develop projects to help vulnerable groups of the population through the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
Kudaibergen Bazarbaev noted that they would increase production and raise incomes of low-income families, improve their food security.
Particular attention was paid to improving the quality of life in border villages.
"The projects should be comprehensive, not only provide social support, but also provide agricultural resources, increase agricultural production, create jobs and conditions for training and retraining. We should not give fish, but a fishing rod. The social contract program, within which low-income families can receive funds to open a small business or increase the efficiency of subsidiary farming, should be stepped up,” he said.
Ozonnia Ojielo, in turn, told about the work on five project proposals that can be financed under the UN Peacebuilding Fund in the coming years. According to him, the UN, together with the government, will continue to work to build trust between various social groups and improve interaction between the population and the state.
