«It is important for everyone to act like a true patriot of their country and vote honestly in the elections,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said during a conversation with residents of a residential area that has formed near Bishkek HPP-2.
He drew particular attention to the fact that the upcoming elections of deputies to the Parliament is the last political process for the next five years. After the elections are held, special emphasis will be placed on the development of the country’s economy.
Sadyr Japarov once again called on the population, including residents of the residential area, to be honest, active in the elections and not to sell their votes. Every vote is important. If they become witnesses as someone urges to bribe voters for this or that candidate or party, it is necessary to take appropriate measures promptly.
The head of state reminded that citizens, who buy and sell votes in elections, will be held accountable. There is a corresponding article in the Criminal Code, under which a person will face prison term.
According to him, practice shows that only this method will help stop such offenses. Otherwise, many are tempted by money and ready to bribe or sell their votes.
«As you know, votes were bought and sold in the last elections, administrative resources were used, local leaders, doctors, and teachers were forced to run about. We are doing the opposite now: if such facts are revealed, the perpetrators will be deprived of their positions. A number of leaders have already left their posts because of this,» Sadyr Japarov added.
He drew attention to the fact that from now on this would no longer happen and the very concept of «unfair elections» would be excluded.
