Police prevented sale of a newborn baby in Jalal-Abad. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
«The State Agency on Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Jalal-Abad region received information that a resident of Jalal-Abad is engaged in forgery of documents. The fact was registered under Article 359 (falsification of documents) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. It became known during investigation that some citizen is preparing for the sale of a newborn child with forged documents,» the statement says.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs themselves took on the role of buyers and detained the suspect while handing over 40,000 soms.
The newborn girl was handed over to the employees of the Child Protection Department of Jalal-Abad city. The case was reclassified into the article 171 (trafficking in persons) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
