Detention of migrants in St. Petersburg: Kyrgyzstani to be deported from Russia

A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who illegally stays on the territory of Russia, was identified during an inspection in St. Petersburg (Russia). The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation reports.

The man was detained by law enforcement officers and taken to the territorial police department. The Kyrgyzstani will be deported from the country with a ban on entry for several years.

Earlier, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast reported that 400 migrants from different countries were detained for checking. The police checked the places of residence of foreign citizens, as well as industrial and commercial sites where migrants are employed. In addition to detection of violations of migration legislation, the inspection was aimed at prevention of crimes committed by foreigners.
