Testing for COVID-19 will be conducted using JenExpert method. The Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Madamin Karataev told at a briefing.
This test is used for the simultaneous rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis, antibiotic sensitivity and rifampicin resistance.
According to Madamin Karataev, testing equipment is available at the National Reference Laboratory.
«It can also be used to detect COVID. With the help of UNDP, we have purchased 6,500 cartridges. This method is a prototype of PCR analysis. Within an hour we can find out the results of eight people, the accuracy of the analysis is 99 percent,» he said.
The deputy minister added that patients with positive results will be hospitalized in the Republican Infectious Diseases Hospital, hospital No. 6 and the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital. «Those who have negative ones will be sent to hospitals depending on the clinical evidence,» he said.
At least 4,402 people were diagnosed with coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan.
