Russia grateful to head of Kyrgyzstan for decision not to participate in parade

Russia is grateful to the President of Kyrgyzstan for the decision not to take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow, made after coronavirus was confirmed in the delegation members, in order not to endanger the guests. RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

«We are really grateful to the President of Kyrgyzstan and the delegation for arriving in Moscow to attend the parade. Unfortunately, during the routine testing, several people from among the delegation turned out to be infected, and, in fact, the President of Kyrgyzstan decided not to take part in the parade not to endanger the health of the veterans, who were present at the parade, as well as other heads of state. We are very grateful for such a decision,» the news agency quotes Dmitry Peskov as saying.

It is reported that high-level contacts will continue at the time agreed upon through diplomatic channels.

«The schedule for these contacts is already clear. Dates will be set simply depending on the epidemiological situation,» the Spokesman for Vladimir Putin said.

Recall, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, being in the capital of Russia, refrained from participation in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The decision was made, according to the algorithm of actions, in connection with detection of coronavirus in persons accompanying him.
