Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic gathered at the building of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia yesterday. Video was posted on social media.

It shows several hundred citizens, who came to the building of the diplomatic mission to get information on their transportation to homeland.

The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Russian Federation Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov came out to the Kyrgyzstanis. He explained that negotiations on the return of migrants to their homeland are held every day.

«A flight to Bishkek is planned for June 7. At least 400 citizens will return. Everyone in the queue will leave. Another plane will fly to Osh on June 13, and to Bishkek — on June 14. I understand that everyone wishes to return to homeland. As of today, the Russian sky is closed. The Russian government makes a decision and has to permit each flight. Thanks to Russia for meeting us halfway in all matters,» Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov said.

The Ambassador noted that there are not enough people in the diplomatic mission to extend the validity of passports.

«Despite the fact that there are employees who got infected with the coronavirus, we work. No embassy is working. The problem with passports has been resolved — their validity period has been extended. President Sooronbai Jeenbekov has joined this issue and keeps it under control. We work from 8.00 to 20.00, have involved four more people in work. Do not believe the rumors that the metro will be free,» Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov told.

He asked fellow citizens not to delay the issue of exchanging expired passports until the end of the year.
