Orphanages and boarding schools of Kyrgyzstan are provided with food products until the end of June. Press service of the Ministry of Education reported.
«Children still get four meals a day, as well as fruits and vegetables. Tender procurements are held quarterly. All boarding schools have held them in March and received food products until April 1. At the moment, there are reserves until the end of June,» the ministry said.
The Ministry of Education added that due to the state of emergency, they allowed purchase of products and goods without a tender, by direct conclusion of a contract. The corresponding letter was sent to all institutions on March 24, 2020.
«Distance learning has been organized in orphanages and boarding schools since April 8. Carers, cooks, medical and administrative staff are working as usual. Various extracurricular activities are organized for children after lessons,» the ministry stressed.
Currently, there are five boarding schools for orphans and children left without parental care in the country. At least 392 children live there.
