Sadyr Japarov’s pardon. 500,000 signatures collected in support of deputy

At least 500,000 signatures were collected for release of the former deputy Sadyr Japarov in Kyrgyzstan. Civic activist Melis Aspekov told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, supporters of the ex-parliament deputy plan to collect a million signatures and then hand them over to the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov. In addition, Sadyr Japarov’s lawyers continue to collect documents to send the request of their client for consideration to the pardon commission.

It is known that Sadyr Japarov indicated in the petition that he was not guilty of anything, did not commit any unlawful actions, and his family was in a difficult situation — his father, mother, his son died. Ex-deputy of the Parliament asks for pardon and release.

Recall, courts of all instances sentenced the former deputy Sadyr Japarov to 11 years and 6 months in a penal colony for complicity in organizing a rally in Karakol in 2013. He was convicted under Article 227 «Hostage-taking» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
