There are about 22 winter ski resorts in Kyrgyzstan, and only 16 of them operate. Director of the Tourism Department Maksat Damir uulu told at a press conference.
There are certain arrangements, under which representatives and owners of the country’s ski resorts will go to Switzerland, where they will study the system of providing services for tourists, including guides. «The exchange of experience will take place under a grant amounting to 1.5 million Swiss francs (about $ 2 million),» added Maksat Damir uulu.
According to him, there is the prospect of building a ski resort in the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan.
«At the moment, there is a land plot in the territory of Alai district, where it snows very well. In fact, all regions of our country are favorable for development of winter tourism and not only it,» the director said.
