Supporters of Sadyr Japarov intend to hold a peaceful rally in support of the ex-MP. They stated this at a press conference at 24.kg news agency.
The supporters urge the State Penitentiary Service and the country’s president not to delay the amnesty issue.
Former deputy Kanybek Osmonaliev noted that Sadyr Japarov had been methodically and constantly raising the Kumtor issue.
«The former authorities were afraid of him and eliminated him, having sentenced to 11.6 years. Question to the head of state: why is the issue of granting amnesty to Sadyr Japarov, being aware that he is worried about the fate of the republic, delayed? At the same time, we see what people are granted amnesty. But the patriot is not released,» he said.
Sadyr Japarov applied for a pardon to the president. However, the pardon commission under the head of state sent his petition to the State Penitentiary Service for revision due to a lack of documents.
Courts of all instances sentenced the former deputy Sadyr Japarov to 11 years and 6 months in prison colony for complicity in organizing a rally in Karakol in 2013. He was convicted under the Article 227 «Hostage-taking» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Supporters of Sadyr Japarov continue to collect signatures for his release.
