«Care and assistance to citizens with disabilities will always be one of the priority areas of the state policy,» statement of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov in connection with the International Day of People with Disabilities says. The President notes that the state seeks to support citizens with disabilities, create the necessary conditions for their study, life, work, fulfillment of talent, and to protect their rights, ensure social rehabilitation and effective integration into public life.
«I express my sincere gratitude to the parents and employees of social institutions who care for children with disabilities, teach and work tirelessly to create favorable conditions for their spiritual development,» the statement says.
The head of state recalled that Kyrgyzstan has ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities this year.
«We must not forget that care and comprehensive assistance to those in need is a common task of both government bodies and our entire society,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed.
