«I cannot but note the contribution of Sooronbai Jeenbekov, cooperation between our countries got a new impetus after he took up office of the head of state,» President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told reporters.
According to him, since the first days of independence, countries continue to build relations in new historical and geopolitical conditions. Today, relations have reached alliance and strategic partnership.
«Since 2015, cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan has continued in the EAEU that has opened up new opportunities. The trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan should be increased to $ 1 billion. In this regard, an instruction was given to find new sectors for cooperation,» concluded Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In 2018, the mutual trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan amounted to $ 900 million.
