Prosecutors General of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey to assist in solving Saimaiti’s murder

The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Otkurbek Dzhamshitov had a telephone conversation with his colleague, Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Cassation of Turkey Mehmet Akarca. The Information and Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the conversation, the Prosecutors General discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, they touched upon the issue of the murder of a citizen of the People’s Republic of China Aierken Saimaiti on November 10, 2019, on suspicion of which, according to the Turkish side, four suspects were detained.

Considering that the incident caused a wide public outcry in Kyrgyzstan, the parties agreed to provide all possible assistance in providing the necessary information and materials within the framework of the existing Agreement on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the two countries.

Earlier, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Kashkar Dzhunushaliev and his Turkish counterpart Suleyman Soylu.

Recall, in connection with the journalistic investigation, the organization of the pre-trial proceedings was entrusted to the Main Investigation Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan on November 24, and on the same day an interdepartmental investigation group was set up from among the investigators of the SCNS, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Service for Combatting Economic Crimes. The necessary investigative actions have been started aimed at finding out all the circumstances relevant to the case. In order to conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation, the necessary investigative actions will be carried out with participation of all persons who have any information.
