Two years have passed since the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov took up office of the head of state. Political analyst Medet Tyulegenov shared with 24.kg news agency his opinion why the expectations from Sooronbai Jeenbekov’s ascension to this post have not yet been met.
According to the expert, the problem of the head of state is that he does not have an ability to build a strategy, form a team and indicate a clear vision of the future of the country. »His predecessors were in opposition, honed their ambitions, character, skills to build relationships, negotiate, that is, they knew what Sooronbai Jeenbekov did not learn,” Medet Tyulegenov said.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov held various positions, was the Prime Minister, but he was always with someone, he did not have an opportunity to form as a politician at the national level.

The expert added that the current president became a hostage of the system of transit of power, and therefore it turned out that he came to the position of the head of state without his political arsenal, created team. He has to wear out what remained from the former leader.
»Previously, he was someone else’s tool, but as he shook off this burden, it turned out that he needed to create everything on his own. But he has not succeeded in demonstrating his own volitional powers so far. Or maybe he doesn’t know how to do this,” Medet Tyulegenov stressed.
The expert is sure that no radical changes will take place in Kyrgyzstan in the remaining two-thirds of the presidential term.
