Parties created one year before the election will be able to participate in the parliamentary elections in 2020 in Kyrgyzstan. Iskhak Masaliev, deputy of the Parliament, said to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, party blocs and tandems are banned by law, and newly created parties will be able to try their hand at the election race. The restriction is valid only for political organizations that appeared three months before the election campaign.
More than 300 political parties have been registered in Kyrgyzstan.
In order to get into the Parliament, the parties need to overcome a 9 percent threshold. Experts called the amendment to the electoral law a failure.
Some politicians also speak for lowering the election deposit. In the 2020 elections, it will amount to 5 million soms. It is offered to reduce it to 1 million soms.
