Deputy Tazabek Ikramov wins bronze medal at World Wrestling Championship

Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Tazabek Ikramov won a bronze medal at the Veterans World Wrestling Championship.

Competitions are held on October 8-13 in Tbilisi (Georgia). The program includes tournaments in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling. Participants were divided into five divisions depending on their age. Greco-Roman wrestlers competed on the first day.

Tazabek Ikramov, who will turn 45 in the near future, competed in the weight category of 70 kg. In the first round, he defeated Zoltan Scholle (Hungary), then Raimo Lehto (Finland), but lost to Azad Alimohammadpur (Iran) in the semifinal. Tazabek Ikramov defeated Orhan Tikac (Turkey) during the bout for the third place.

The most mature wrestlers competed in division E. Kyrgyzstani Berdikul Karaev defeated Karoli Zeitl (Hungary), Faramarz Budagi (Iran) and lost to Wilhelm Schroeder (Germany) in 88 kg weight category. As a result, Karaev won a silver medal.
