President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov plans to visit France. This was announced today during a media scrum by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov, in the course of negotiations with his French counterpart Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, prospects for intensifying bilateral relations and cooperation in a multilateral format were discussed.
«We outlined the dynamic and progressive development of relations between Kyrgyzstan and France. Today we cooperate in many areas — political-diplomatic, cultural-humanitarian and trade-economic. French companies successfully operate in Kyrgyzstan, implement projects and participate in power industry tenders. We welcome the increase in the number of investments from France to the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, we discussed the future path of deepening trade and economic relations, the use of membership of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Eurasian Economic Union and the special status of the Kyrgyz Republic granted by the European Union. We noted the dynamics of growth of trade of the Kyrgyz Republic with the countries of Europe after receiving the status. We also discussed the preparation for the planned visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to France. Its dates will be discussed through diplomatic channels,» Chingiz Aidarbekov said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed that it was necessary to focus on the substantive content of the visit of Sooronbai Jeenbekov. He added that, following the instructions of the president, the issue of opening of an embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Paris is being considered.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne agreed that the negotiations were productive and France was ready to support and develop cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic in all areas.
«The sympathy expressed by Kyrgyzstan in connection with the fire in Notre-Dame de Paris made us understand that you are very sensitive to us as a partner and the people,» he stressed.
