People's Kurultai begins collection of signatures for referendum

People’s Kurultai begins collection of signatures for the referendum. The former member of the interim government Azimbek Beknazarov said at a press conference in 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the People’s Kurultai drafted a bill and registered it with the Ministry of Justice.

«On April 27, at the second People’s Kurultai, we will start collecting signatures. By law, we have to collect 10,000. We will submit them to the Parliament,» said Azimbek Beknazarov.

It is proposed to hold a referendum on November 24, 2019 before the elections to the Parliament. The People’s Kurultai will submit to the referendum consideration of the annual report of the President, the Parliament and local governments at the National Kurultai, a change in the form of state administration and election to the Parliament system.

«We know that the president is against amendments to the Constitution until 2020. We appreciate his openness. We are always ready to work with politicians who openly and clearly express their opinions. But we believe the issue must be resolved now, before the parliamentary elections,» said Azimbek Beknazarov.
