Possibility of exchange of land between the countries was discussed during the negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the border. Information Support Department of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Government delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov participated in a regular joint meeting on the delimitation and demarcation of Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan state border from April 4 to April 6 in Dushanbe.
«The parties discussed continuation of the demarcation of the project line of Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan border on the remaining sites, exchange of land plots to eliminate disseminated and inter-strip sites and ensuring stability at the border, as well as completion of creation of large-scale delimitation topographic maps,» the statement says.
Following the meeting, protocol of the meeting was signed. The sides expressed readiness to complete the formation of Tajikistan — Kyrgyzstan state border line on a mutually beneficial basis.
The length of Tajikistan — Kyrgyzstan border is 976 kilometers. Only 504 kilometers of them were delimited and demarcated.
