Kazakhstan imposes ban on export of diesel fuel

A ban on the export of diesel fuel from the country by road has entered into force today in Kazakhstan. Kazakh media reported.

According to them, the ban will be valid for six months. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan explained the need for such a measure by the desire to provide the domestic market with diesel fuel prior to spring field work. Deputy Head of the Ministry Magzum Mirzagaliev pointed out that the situation with diesel fuel was far from critical, but with the help of the ban, the authorities are trying to avoid any shortages risk.

«Spring field work begins. Supply of the domestic market is always a priority for us. This decision was made on the basis of the interests of our agricultural producers,» said Magzum Mirzagaliev, answering a question from journalists.

Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbaev said that the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel in the country was lower than in Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Because of this, transit transport drivers actively consume the fuel in the border regions of the republic.
