Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan urges energy sector not to deceive him and people

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev urged the managers of the energy sector to stop deceiving everyone. He stated this today at a government meeting.

The head of the Cabinet criticized the report of the chairmen of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use and the National Energy Holding.

«You both spoke for 15 minutes and did not say anything new. You do not have a development plan, you do not tell us how and where our energy sector goes. You can only offer in case of low-flow to buy more coal, if there are more water — to buy less coal. We have heard your tale for 20 years. I know who of you is lying, and who is telling the truth. Your reports do not change,» said the Prime Minister.

Kyrgyz power companies are the most corrupt sector that the people don’t trust.

«I understand that you are fulfilling a great social obligation and our tariffs are the lowest. Nevertheless, you have huge losses, there is no mechanism for installation of meters. First, ensure openness, then you will be able to talk about tariffs. You two must fight against corruption. Should we imprison all, or what?» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev said.
