There are no doctors in many Bishkek schools who should conduct medical examinations of schoolchildren. Deputy Valentina Lisnichenko announced at a session of the Bishkek City Council.
«Doctor must be assigned to a school from the Family Medicine Center, which services the area. But almost a third of schools have no doctors. Children should undergo preventive medical examination and immunization. According to the WHO, 20 percent of children who come to school have various chronic diseases, and by the end of their school years their number rises to 80 percent. At the same time, not all schools have doctors,» she said.
She asked the Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Tatyana Kuznetsova to study this issue.
