Citizens of one of the neighboring countries were caught red-handed at Osh International Airport in course of the active search measures aimed at detection and suppression of channel for illegal transportation of large batches of narcotic drugs. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
It was found out that the criminal group transported drugs through the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic for their further delivery to Russia.
When inspecting the baggage, a cache with 57 briquettes with a total weight of more than 3 kilograms was found and confiscated.
According to preliminary information, the detected substance with a specific smell is heroin.
Investigative bodies of the State Committee for National Security opened a criminal case on the fact, it was registered in the Unified Register on grounds of crime under Part 3 of Art. 267 (illegal manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues for the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The detainees were placed in the temporary detention facility of Osh police department. The investigation is underway.
