State debt of Kyrgyzstan reaches $ 711.4 per each citizen

According to the results of January 2019, state debt of Kyrgyzstan reached $ 711.4 per each citizen of the country. Over the month, the debt burden has increased by $ 2.8.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as of January 31, 2019, the total amount of state debt (external + internal) of Kyrgyzstan was $ 4,481.96 billion (313,039.95 billion soms), including $ 3,838.75 billion (268,115.4 billion soms) — external, and $ 643.21 million (44,924.55 billion soms) — internal debt debt.

For a month, the country’s state debt increased by $ 17.61 million. Most of all, Kyrgyzstan still owes the Export-Import Bank of China — $ 1,721.6 billion (44.8 percent of the country’s total external debt).

As of January 2019, the state debt amounted to 51.8 percent of GDP.

As of December 1, 2018, at least 6.3 million people lived in Kyrgyzstan. An average salary in the republic is 15,327 soms. To repay the state debt, every citizen has to give 3.24 of his or her salary.
