Participants of destruction of business objects, organized by local citizens, where labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan worked, were arrested in Yakutsk (Russia).
According to Sakhalife.ru, during the immediate active search activities, police officers detained four men — participants of illegal actions in a store on Petrovsky Street — within several hours.
Last night they were taken to a police station and identified. Currently, a check is being conducted, during which a procedural decision will be made.
Anti-migrant campaigns started in Yakutsk after the city’s Investigation Committee announced that three unknown persons forced a woman to get into a car on Sunday morning, March 17. According to investigators, the suspect drove to a garage, where he abused the victim.
The criminal case was opened under the articles «Rape» and «Abduction of a Person» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
After the incident, residents of Yakutsk held a rally against migrants. The head of Yakutia, in her speech, promised to fight illegal migration. Later, Sardana Avksentieva noted that the situation was taken under her control. The mayor of Yakutsk assured of ensuring safety of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the city and guaranteed an immediate response in case of threats.
