Kyrgyzstan - Russia trade turnover may reach pre-crisis level of $ 2 billion

As a result of 2019, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia may reach its pre-crisis level of $ 2 billion. Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zamirbek Askarov announced this today during the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian conference.

According to him, business meetings within the conference are held in the context of global changes in the economy. Nowadays, it is developing in the conditions of a crisis, a decline in investment and an increase in the level of migration. But despite this, the dynamics of interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation is gaining momentum.

At present, the contractual framework of our countries is more than 352 documents regulating specific areas of interaction.

«Russia was the first to help in the difficult period of Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. At least $ 200 million were allocated for these purposes. In addition, the Russian government has allocated $ 500 million for creation of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), which has now entered an active phase of its activity. Currently, 1,662 projects in various industries for $ 310 million have been approved. We highly appreciate Russia’s decision on duty-free deliveries of oil products, which has a positive effect on stability in the domestic consumer market,» Zamirbek Askarov stressed.
