Coordination Council of the Kyrgyz Diaspora in Moscow and Moscow Oblast of Russia issued a statement after the events in Yakutia in which it reminded of tolerance and generosity and urged the Yakuts to remember: crime committed by one person does not characterize nationality as a whole.
The statement says that ordinary people, law-abiding migrants from Kyrgyzstan, are not to blame for what happened.
«Dear compatriots, do not give way to anger, do not break the friendship of two nations. The Kyrgyz people at all times have been generous and tolerant,» representatives of the Diaspora noted.
According to the information of the Investigative Committee of Yakutsk, three Kyrgyz citizens forced a woman to get into a car in the morning of March 17, and later raped her in a garage.
The criminal case was initiated on rape and abduction of a person charges.
After the incident, residents of Yakutsk held a rally against migrants. In addition, total checks of all migrants began in Yakutia, there are those who will be deported.
