Kyrgyzstanis won the second gold medal at the Special Olympics. The State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.
Competitions were held on March 14-21 in Abu Dhabi city (UAE). At least 7,500 athletes from 190 countries participated in the Games. The program included 24 sports.
Kyrgyzstanis Zhanysh kyzy Perizat and Ilitai Mambetalieva were the best in the doubles at badminton tournament. It passed under «united sport» program — one participant was an Olympian, the second was a partner (without intellectual disabilities).
Earlier, the Kyrgyz Kalykul kyzy Gulzada won the track and field tournament within the Special Olympics.
Athletes with intellectual disabilities participate in the Special Olympics.
