Amount of damage in criminal cases on smuggling of goods in 2018 amounted to 149,956 million soms. Prosecutor of Directorate for Supervision over Intelligence Operations and Investigation of the Prosecutor General’s Office Kalys Belegenov told journalists.
According to him, 169 criminal cases were initiated and investigated on the facts of smuggling of goods and other items last year. Eight of them were sent to court, 109 were terminated due to voluntary payment of customs duties.
At least 25.2 million soms were reimbursed to the budget on the smuggling facts.
«Arrests have been imposed on smuggled goods and items within criminal cases. Relevant operational and investigative measures are being taken on them,» Kalys Belegenov told.
