Yakutia Interior Ministry receives no statements on incidents with Kyrgyzstanis

Statements about incidents involving citizens of Kyrgyzstan were not submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia. Head of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Vladimir Prokopenko, told at a meeting with representatives of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to Vladimir Prokopenko, the situation is stable and the republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs took the necessary measures to prevent unrest.

«Yesterday, we held a series of meetings with the authorities and our compatriots. The main thing now is to properly convey information to the public in order to settle the situation in Yakutsk. Today we are planning another meeting with the mayor of Yakutsk, Sardana Avksentieva, and three suspected citizens of Kyrgyzstan,» said Samat Toktobolotov, Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A rally against migrants was held in Yakutia. It was caused by information about abduction and rape of a local woman by a group of migrants.

According to the Investigative Committee of Yakutsk, three unknown persons forced the woman to get into a car on Sunday morning. One of the suspects was detained.

Criminal case was opened on rape and abduction of a person charges. The Investigative Committee reported that the detainee pleaded guilty.
