Representative office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan in Russia released a statement in connection with anti-migrant sentiments in Yakutsk.

According to it, illegal actions of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were also previously registered on the territory of Yakutia. For example, on March 11, an Instagram user, student of a local university from Kyrgyzstan, published a post with incorrect expressions infringing the honor and dignity of local residents. It also caused a great public outcry. Diaspora community in Yakutia sent him to the Kyrgyz Republic for security purposes.

According to the Investigative Committee of Yakutsk, three unknown persons forced a woman to get into a car on Sunday morning. According to investigators, a 23-year-old suspect went to a garage, where he abused the victim. It is noted that one of the suspects was detained.

The criminal case was initiated on rape and abduction of a person charges. The Investigative Committee reports that the detainee admitted his guilt.

After this incident, residents of Yakutsk held a rally against migrants. The head of Yakutia, in his speech, urged protesters to remain calm, but promised to fight against illegal migration.
