Embassy staff in Korea pressured by Foreign Ministry after corruption statements

After statements by the former Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Korea, Kylychbek Sultan, about corruption in the Foreign Ministry, they put pressure on the embassy staff. He stated this at a press conference in 24.kg news agency.

According to Kylychbek Sultan, he recently learned that they demanded from the employees of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Korea to write statements against him.

«I don’t know who wrote and what, but one employee openly refused, stating that I was working within the law. Then it came to the point that they beat her up. I do not have information whether she was forced to sign a statement after that,» he said.

Kylychbek Sultan was dismissed from the post of ambassador in October 2018 after allegations of corruption at the Kyrgyz Foreign Affairs Ministry.
