7 criminal cases opened after conflict on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border

At least seven criminal cases were opened after a conflict on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border. Law enforcement agencies informed 24.kg news agency.

All criminal cases will be investigated by a joint intergovernmental group.

«It is known that three out of seven criminal cases were initiated on the fact of attempted murder after injury of our citizens. The Kyrgyz military prosecutor’s office created a joint intergovernmental investigation team. It includes representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security and the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Pre-trial proceedings have begun,» the law enforcement agencies said.

A conflict occurred in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan on March 13-14 on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border over construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road. Residents of border villages threw stones at each other. Border guards of both countries used weapons to disperse people. The road Osh — Isfana in the area of Vorukh enclave was closed. It was opened only five days later.
