The State Migration Service of Kyrgyzstan is extremely concerned about «anti-migrant» sentiment and a rally in Yakutia (Russia). Press release of the state service reports.
The Migration Service asks Kyrgyzstanis in Yakutia to refrain from any actions that may entail interethnic conflicts.
In order to resolve the situation, the Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service Samat Toktobolotov left for Yakutia.
According to the service, more than 10,000 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic work in the Republic of Sakha.
The day before, Yakutia hosted a rally against migrants. It was provoked by information about abduction and rape of a local woman by a group of migrants.
A video, on which local residents threaten migrants selling shawarma, is spread on social networking sites. Users also post about an attack on a migrant — a driver of public transport — and raids against the Kyrgyz.
