The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is stable.
According to the state service, gatherings of citizens were not registered in the border areas from March 15 until 6:00 on March 16.
Delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan continue negotiations on resolving the situation on the border.
The Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov together with the heads of the State Border Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, heads of regional administrations and other state bodies are in Batken region.
The State Border Service, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies and representatives of local self-government bodies, continues to carry out preventive work with the population of border areas. Border units of the Kyrgyz Republic located in the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border are still on alert. In general, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is stable.
