Antimonopoly Agency receives 358 consumer complaints in 2018

Antimonopoly Agency of Kyrgyzstan considered a total of 358 complaints and statements on consumer protection issues. Head of the Advertising and Consumer Rights Protection Department of the State Agency for Anti-Monopoly Regulation, Nazina Alykulova, told at a round table discussion.

According to her, most often consumers complained about the quality of household appliances, furniture, plastic windows, shoes and clothes, return of air tickets. They also appealed on equity construction.

Nazina Alykulova added that after the development of social networking sites, consumers began to write complaints there more often than to contact government agencies.

There is an order from the government for government agencies to respond to messages on social networks. The antimonopoly agency considered 41 such messages on social networks.

She added that consumers did not actively complain to government agencies, because many did not know the legislation in the sphere of their rights.

The World Consumer Rights Day is marked on March 15.
