At least 17 organizations were fined for consumer fraud last year in Kyrgyzstan. Taalai Soldatov, head of the Methodological Supervision Department of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety, told at a round table discussion.
He noted that while the Administrative Code was in effect, duties of the State Ecological and Technical Safety Inspectorate included work on «Consumer fraud» article.
«In 2018, 25 complaints were received from consumers who thought they had been deceived. 17 facts were confirmed, fines have been written up,» said Taalai Soldatov.
According to him, consumers, in particular, complained about deceit at gas filling stations. «But this is a questionable issue. Perhaps, there are some cases,» the head of the department added.
