Tuberculosis mortality rate drops 6 times in Kyrgyzstan

Tuberculosis mortality rate has dropped six times in Kyrgyzstan. Director of the National Center for Phthisiology of Kyrgyzstan Abdullaat Kadyrov told today at a press conference in 24.kg news agency.

According to him, as of today, the epidemiological situation on tuberculosis in the republic is stable. «High incidence was observed in 2001 — 168 cases per 100,000 people. The highest mortality from tuberculosis was registered in the same year — 17 cases,» said Abdullaat Kadyrov.

He noted that by the end of 2018, at least 85 cases of tuberculosis per 100,000 people were registered. «We have reduced the incidence by half, mortality — six times,» Abdullaat Kadyrov stressed.
