Net inflow of foreign investment in Kyrgyzstan amounts to $ 46.6 mln in 2018

In 2018, the net inflow of foreign investment in Kyrgyzstan was $ 46.6 million. The National Statistical Committee of the country presented such data.

The inflow of foreign direct investment last year compared with 2017 decreased by 7.6 percent and amounted to $ 569.8 million. Most of the investments were made in the enterprises of Bishkek (about 49 percent), Chui (about 30 percent) and Jalal-Abad regions (about 20 percent).

The outflow of foreign direct investment in 2018 compared with 2017 decreased by 27.7 percent and amounted to $ 523.2 million.

A decrease in investment outflow was observed at mining enterprises (by 44 percent), geological exploration (41.4 percent), manufacturing enterprises (15.7 percent) and in the field of financial intermediation and insurance (4 percent).

At the same time, the outflow of foreign direct investment to non-CIS countries decreased 1.8 times, mainly due to their reduction to Canada (42.8 times), Seychelles (35.8 times), the UK (1.4 times) and China (by 14.7 percent). The outflow of foreign direct investment to the CIS countries, on the contrary, increased 2.1 times due to an increase in outflow to Russia (5.1 times).

A decrease in the outflow of foreign direct investment in comparison with 2017 was observed in Batken, Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, Talas, Chui regions and Osh city.
