Kyrgyzstan’s international reserves increase by $ 10 million in February

In February 2019, gross international reserves of Kyrgyzstan increased by $ 10.05 million. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Gross international reserves reached $ 2,180.49 billion. Compared with February 2018, they reduced by $33,650,000.

The volume of reserves has been growing steadily since November last year. Their lowest level was registered in September 2018, when reserves fell to $ 2,090.64 billion.

The National Bank uses the reserves to smooth out sharp fluctuations in the foreign exchange market. In total, last year, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic conducted 11 interventions, buying $ 20,550,000 and selling $ 154,550,000. Net sale of dollars since the beginning of 2018 reached $ 134 million. In January 2019, the financial regulator entered the foreign exchange market only once, having sold $ 18.8 million.
