At least 241,000 tons of wheat were imported to Kyrgyzstan from other countries in 2018. The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Nurbek Murashev informed at a meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan is able to provide itself with wheat only by 50-55 percent. The rest of the wheat is imported from other countries.
According to the First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov, the wheat acres will be reduced by 28,000 hectares in 2019.
